XStudio Online Demonstration Environment

You can try XStudio immediatly just connecting to our demo environment.

In a few minutes, you'll be able to execute manual tests and a few automated tests (with a few extra minutes of configuration).

  • Just click on the following link: XStudio online demo environment (at the first run you will need to execute the .jnlp file using the JAVAWS application. Depending on your configuration, you MAY also be asked to install the JRE from SUN)
  • When the logging screen shows up, enter the following credentials:
       - Username: admin
       - Password: password

To test all the (email) notifications (bug-tracking, test execution report etc.), do not hesitate to create some users and specifying (real) email addresses (we commit to not do anything with them), then login with these new credentials.

If you create some manual tests, do not forget to create their testplan before executing them

For more information about how to use XStudio, refer to the User's Manual.

WARNING: this environment can be extremely slow and with a huge latency due to the low bandwidth. In addition, due to the large number of simultaneous connections you MAY even not be able to connect at specific times during the day.

How to run one individual manual test?

  • Select the Tests tab
  • Select the Manual Tests > Folder 1 > Test1 test
  • Press the play button
  • In the popup, select a SUT to execute the tests on (i.e. Acme Product 1) and Submit
  • You'll be asked for a serie of (dumb) questions corresponding to the test. Answer as you feel...
  • When the test is completed, select the Content tab of the generated campaign session
  • You can see the status of each test in the campaign session (in this case only 1)
  • Click on the test, then on the testcase(s) and check the status of each item
  • Congrats, you've executed your first manual test with XStudio !

How to run automated tests?

The demo environment is provided with some sample automated tests. This inludes the following kind of tests (but you can handle much more with XStudio):
  • AutoIt tests
  • Selenium HTML tests
  • Selenium Java tests
  • Selenium Python tests
  • JUnit tests
  • NUnit tests (.NET)
  • PyUnit tests
  • Marathon tests
  • TestNG tests

Most of the tests require external test frameworks/libraries to be executed (AutoIt, Selenium etc.) and are simple examples included in the test frameworks themselves.

The pre-existing test campaigns in this environment are configured to work with specific setup. If you wish to run those tests as-is, you'll need to setup those frameworks/libraries a specific way. The best is that you download the following package. Then, unzip it in a folder C:/test_repository and read the the included README.TXT file for more detailed complete procedure.

One last thing: this environment is aimed at naturally becoming quickly a mess (and will be restored regularly on the week-end).
