"XStudio 9 is a major version. Even though it contains only a very few new features, one will definitely be a game changer!

XStudio is now supporting what we call the multi-source connectors. I'll let you check below for the details.

Multi-source Connectors

Connectors are a great way to integrate with a third-party systems. For instance, you can replace the integrated bug-tracking module in XStudio and get fetch/update your bugs from a third-party system such as JIRA, YouTrack etc.
The same is also available for requirements.
Until version 9 you were able to select only one third-party system to use at requirement and/or bug level.

But what about if you're managing several projects that each use a different bug-tracker or requirement repository?
That's what the multi-source connectors feature is about. You can now have an unlimited number of connectors at the requirement and bug level and manage them all simultaneously.

Here are the third-party systems currently supported (more can be added on-demand):

You can now mix as many connectors as you want.

You can even use several connectors pointing to different third-party systems of the same type. For instance, you may have 2 JIRA connectors pointing to 2 different JIRA cloud instances.


For example, you could configure your XStudio this way:

Requirements =     Integrated +
  JIRA REST #1 (requirements + user-stories) +
  JIRA REST #2 (user-stories) +
  VersionOne
Bugs =     Integrated +
  Mantis REST +
  JIRA REST #1 (bugs) +
  JIRA REST #3 (bugs + custom type)

When you have several connectors configured, you can identify them threw the icon and the name of the first-level virtual folder in the tree:

Quick result update

XStudio 9beta also comes with a new shortcut to update a result and its detailed comments right from a session's results panel.

It has never been so easy to update a result!

Improved Kanban Dashboard

The Kanban board has also been improved in version 9 to display more useful information in the cards.

It can be used to easily manage by drag'n drop your items's status, priorities, severities, types and more.

This feature is available on all the trees:

ROADMAP

XStudio 9 will have soon a stable release and some service packs delivered with new low-risk features and bug-fixes.
